Hello, I’m Valerie, I am a trilingual therapist and I can offer you the possibility to freely express yourself without barriers in your own native language, French, Arabic or English.
I was raised in Lebanon, a multiethnic and no doubt conflicted country, where every morning I woke up to a new crisis, a new threat, a new loss. However, living in Lebanon despite all the painful circumstances, taught me innovative ways of dealing with distress, trauma, and survival, but most of all, it taught me how to still strive and enjoy life no matter what. I understand how repressed emotions, anger, frustration, trauma and grief could lead to an unhealthy relationship with food, body and self-worth.
My search for a way to deal with my own issues has led me to the psycho-organic analysis therapy method, which was a life changing experience. This is a creative, interactive and multi-dimensional therapeutic approach that acknowledges the profound bond between our mind, our emotions and our body. It works both with the psyche and the organism, the mind and the body. Because of the change I was experiencing in my therapy I decided to become a Psychotherapist and train in that approach.
In addition to being a psychotherapist I also practiced as a Clinical Psychologist. I have worked with a wide variety of cases of all ages in many different settings such as: private practice, schools and non-profit organizations which provided me with firsthand experience with diverse cultural, ethnic and social groups and enriched my daily life.
I do believe that every person is different and unique, that’s why different modalities are necessary in order to achieve wellness and that’s why my approach is multi-dimensional specifically tailored for you, depending on your need. I aim to offer you a safe and non-judgmental place where you can find the support you need to express yourself freely, to face and to overcome your struggles.
