What Does The Blood Test Measure?
The blood test is a simple, at-home finger prick test that checks 20 biomarkers to assess your liver and kidney function as well as heart health and key nutrients.
The test includes the following biomarker profiles:
Proteins (3 biomarkers): Proteins are measured. Proteins are vital to the functioning of cells and tissues as well as for building muscle. Proteins in the blood are measured to asses liver and kidney functioning.
Liver Health (4 biomarkers): Your liver is one of the body’s most important organs and has many essential functions, such as breaking down food and converting it to energy, detoxifying and removing toxins as well as regulating some hormones.
Cholesterol status (6 biomarkers): Cholesterol is a fatty substance found in the blood and can have a serious impact on your heart health. Diet, family history, obesity and lack of exercise can all impact your cholesterol levels.
Kidney health (2 biomarkers): Your kidneys are responsible for removing waste products and excess fluid from your blood.
Iron status (1 biomarker): Iron is an element that we require for several different bodily processes such as creating new blood cells, carrying oxygen around the body and strengthening our immune system.
Vitamins (2 biomarkers): Vitamins are essential nutrients that your body needs to function properly. Vitamin D is vital for bone maintenance, muscle function and protein synthesis. Research has also shown the important role it plays in regulating the immune system and supporting mental health. Vitamin B12 is important for the production of red blood
cells, metabolism and supporting the nervous system.
Muscle Health (1 biomarker): Creatine kinase is an important enzyme found in your skeletal muscle, heart muscle and brain.
Inflammation (1 biomarker): Inflammation occurs when your defence system is activated in order to protect your body from irritants and tissue damage. Acute inflammation is caused by infection or injury, while chronic inflammation is caused by longer-term conditions.
