Breakfast is Back

We are often told breakfast is the most important meal for the day, research shows that not only does it help to control our hunger levels for the rest of the day but it can also help to reduce the risks of heart disease.
Research:
Breakfast is often claimed to be the most important meal of the day, yet so many of still regularly skip it. But in doing so we could be letting ourselves in for further health problems.
A study of 20 girls classed as overweight were split into 3 categories, 1) a normal-protein cereal-based breakfast (13g), 2) a high-protein egg and beef-rich breakfast (35g protein) or 3) continue breakfast skipping. They followed this for six days and on the seventh underwent MRI scan, blood tests and an appetite survey.
The results showed that those who ate breakfast were overall less hungry and the high protein breakfast also proved more effective in keeping hunger levels down. It also found that those who ate breakfast has less brain function in the parts associated with hunger.
A further study then looked at whether or not eating breakfast had a link to heart disease, it found that those who ate breakfast had lower levels of body fat, higher cardiorespiratory fitness and better lipids levels.
