Negative Effects of Stress on Fertility

A study published in the journal Human Reproduction revealed that the enzyme alpha-amylase and the hormone cortisol, which are produced at times of stress, are responsible for a 29% decrease in the chance of becoming pregnant.

Keeping the stress enzyme and hormone at low levels is essential to ensure fertility is not compromised. Activities such as yoga, massage and meditation are recommended to keep stress to a manageable level.

Although stress cannot be identified as the main factor contributing to low fertility, a holistic approach should consider strategies to reduce stress.

Nutrion also needs to be looked at when trying for a baby.

Here at WeightMatters we can help you find strategies to lower your stress levels, embrace a healthier lifestyle and give you the best chance of conceiving through a personalised nutrition plan.
